Tattoo appointment prep
Prepping for your appointment is crucial! Here are some tips prior to your appointment to help it go smoothly!
Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate! I ask my clients to really focus on hydration starting the week prior to their appointment. This means drinking more water AND using lotion on the area being tattooed daily.
Avoid alcohol and recreational drugs before your session.
Clean/change your bedding the night before.
Eat a balanced meal before arriving.
Avoid foods that cause gassiness or burps.
Stay out of the sun/tanning or utilize sunblock to protect your skin from damage that could result in your appointment being rescheduled.
Get a good night’s sleep before your appointment, as fatigue can increase pain sensitivity and make the process less comfortable.
Wear loose, dark clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area and is comfortable for long periods.
Shower! Good hygiene is crucial for a great appointment, sanitation, and better ink application.
You will need to bring a valid ID.
Please do not take Aspirin or Ibuprofen within the 24 hours prior to your appointment unless instructed by your healthcare provider to do so. Tylenol is ok.
If you have a longer appointment, feel free to bring snacks, water, audiobook, etc.
